DCB Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Online Facility.
DCB Bank offer SGB to customers of the Bank as per the guidelines of RBI.
As per RBI guidelines, individuals, HUFs, Trusts and other similar entities who have an active customer ID with the Bank and hold valid PAN can subscribe to SGB.
Features:
- SGBs are government securities denominated in grams of gold. They are a substitute for holding physical gold.
- SGB is issued by Reserve Bank of India on behalf of Government of India.
- Investors are assured of the market value of gold at the time of maturity and periodical interest.
- SGB is free from issues such as making charges and purity as may be the case for gold in jewellery form.
- SGBs are held in the books of the RBI or in demat form eliminating risk of loss of scrip etc.
- An investor can buy 4 kg worth of gold every year (April-March).
- SGB bears interest at the rate of 2.50 per cent (fixed rate) per annum on the amount of initial investment.
- When applied for online the issue price of SGB will be ₹ 50 per gram less than the nominal value and Payment against the application is to be made through digital mode.
- Both interest and redemption proceeds will be credited to the bank account furnished by the customer at the time of buying the bond.
Redemption features:
- The investor will be advised one month before maturity regarding the ensuing maturity of the SGB.
- On the date of maturity, the maturity proceeds will be credited to the bank account on record.
- In case of changes in any details, such as, account number, email ID, the investor must intimate the Bank/ Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited/ Probationary Officer promptly.
