What is DCB TravelCash Card?
The DCB TravelCash Card is a magnetic strip-based international prepaid card introduced in association with Visa International. It offers you the most convenient and secure way to make payments overseas at Visa merchant establishments and to withdraw cash at Visa ATMs worldwide. The DCB TravelCash Card provides easy access to the currency of your destination at competitive market rates. This card cannot be used for payments in India, Nepal and Bhutan.
What are the currencies available with the DCB TravelCash Card?
The DCB TravelCash Card is currently available in four currencies, namely, the United States Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), Great Britain Pound (GBP) and Canadian Dollar (CAD).
Can the DCB TravelCash Card be used anywhere in the world?
The DCB TravelCash Card is accepted at all Visa merchant establishments and at Visa ATMs worldwide, other than India, Nepal and Bhutan.
How do I receive my four-digit ATM PIN ?
You will need to call 1800 103 3225 (from India only) to generate your PIN. Alternatively you can visit the Bank’s website at www.dcbl.com. On the home page, under ‘Cards’, click on the link ‘DCB Travel Cards’ and then click ‘Access Account’. You will have to enter your Card number, Date of Birth and CVV (three digit security code appearing at the back of your card) to login to your account. After you login to your account, you can choose ‘Change PIN’ to generate your four-digit PIN.
Use your PIN to withdraw cash at Visa ATMs worldwide (other than India, Nepal and Bhutan), irrespective of the currency of the card. Please ensure that you remember your PIN. Every card has a unique PIN and this cannot be changed at any domestic or international ATM.
What are the exchange rates applicable
while using DCB TravelCash Card for cash withdrawals
at Visa ATMs and for purchase transactions at
Visa merchant establishments?
If the transaction is done in base currency (USD
/ EUR / GBP / CAD), there is no exchange rate
applicable. However, for transactions other than
the base currency, exchange / conversion rates
from the base currency to the local currency would
be applicable. Currency conversion will be performed
electronically through the ATM or the Merchant
Pont of Sales (POS) machine with globally acceptable
competitive rates. The Bank plays no intermediary
role in such currency conversion process.
Is it possible to reload the DCB TravelCash
Card with an additional amount while travelling
overseas?
It is certainly possible to reload the
card with additional currency while travelling
overseas. You need to leave a signed copy of the
DCB TravelCash reload form and authorisation with
any of your family members in India. In case you
do need to reload your card with additional currency,
all you need to do is intimate your family member
back home in India. The family member can then
visit the designated DCB Branch (card issuing
branch) and submit the reload form. On submission
of documents and receipt of the payment, your
card is then loaded with additional currency as
required. The DCB TravelCash Card can be used
only for 36 months from the date the first value
load happens on the card. Within this period you
can use your card as often as you like. You can
easily reload your existing card with an additional
amount before your next trip overseas.
Is a temporary suspend (block) facility available on the DCB TravelCash Card?
Your DCB TravelCash Card can be easily blocked temporarily for safety purposes. Please call DCB 24-Hour Customer Care at +91 22 32811322 and place your instructions to suspend or block the same.
Alternatively you can visit the Bank’s website at www.dcbl.com. On the home page, under ‘Cards’, click on the link ‘DCB Travel Cards’ and then click ‘Access Account’. You will have to enter your Card number, Date of Birth and CVV (three digit security code appearing at the back of your card) to login to your account. After you login to your account, you can choose to temporarily suspend (block) your card. You can also choose to subsequently un-suspend (unblock) the card online.
What immediate steps do I take if my card is lost?
In case your card gets lost or stolen, all you need to do is immediately call DCB 24-Hour Customer Care at +91 22 32811322 and report the loss of your card.
How do I track my transactions on DCB TravelCash Card while travelling overseas?
Simply visit us at www.dcbl.com. On the home page, under ‘Cards’, click on the link ‘DCB Travel Cards’ and then click ‘Access Account’. You will have to enter your Card number, Date of Birth and CVV (three digit security code appearing at the back of your card) to login to your account. After you login to your account, you can view your account statement and track your transactions.
If I am planning to travel to different countries, can I have multiple currencies loaded on the same card?
The DCB TravelCash Card can be loaded with only one currency. It is not possible to have multiple currencies on the same card. However, you can take the card in one currency and can use the same worldwide (other than India, Nepal and Bhutan), irrespective of the currency of the country, subject to applicable exchange / conversion rates.
How do I withdraw the remaining cash from my card, if the amount is too small for the ATM to dispense?
With the DCB TravelCash Card, balance encashment is very convenient. Once you return to India, all you need to do is visit the DCB Branch (card issuing branch) and apply for a refund of the balance on your card. The same will be processed subject to payment of the applicable fee.
The balance on the card can be encashed only after your return to India. Furthermore, the last transaction made on the card should be more than 10 days prior to the date of request for encashment. You will be required to submit the refund form along with a copy of your passport. Based on RBI regulations, you can retain your card only if the balance available on the card is below USD 2,000 when you return from your overseas trip. If the balance exceeds USD 2,000, you will need to compulsorily surrender your card and take back the balance amount in full within 180 days from the date of arrival in India. The RBI regulations are subject to change from time to time.
How quickly can I get the replacement
card?
Your replacement card will be couriered to your
mailing address registered with the Bank in India,
within a week’s time of your placing the
request for the same. It is recommended that you
carry your active supplementary card to avoid
any inconvenience while travelling overseas.
Will the ATM PIN of the Supplementary
Card be the same as the Primary Card?
The ATM PIN of the supplementary card will be
different from that of the primary card. You will
need to call 1800 103 3225 (from India only) to
generate your PIN. Alternatively, you can visit
the Bank’s website at www.dcbl.com. On the
home page, under ‘Cards’, click on
the link ‘DCB Travel Cards’ and then
click ‘Access Account’. You will have
to enter your Card number, Date of Birth and CVV
(three digit security code appearing at the back
of your card) to login to your account. After
you login to your account, you can choose ‘Change
PIN’ to generate your four-digit PIN for
both the primary as well as the supplementary
card.
How can the Supplementary Card be used if the Primary Card is lost / misplaced?
Your supplementary card, if active, is ready to be used immediately in the event that your primary card is either lost or misplaced. Please call 1800 103 3225 (from India only) to activate your supplementary card. Alternatively you can visit the Bank’s website at www.dcbl.com to login to your account. After you login to your account, you can choose to activate your supplementary card. It is recommended that you carry your active supplementary card to avoid any inconvenience while travelling overseas.
Are there any rules that govern overseas transactions?
All overseas transactions (purchases as well as cash withdrawals) must be made in strict accordance with the exchange regulations of the Reserve Bank of India prevailing from time to time. Use of payment instruments shall be limited to permissible current account transactions and subject to the prescribed limit under the Foreign Exchange Management (Current Account Transaction) Rules, 2000, as amended from time to time. In the event of your failure to do so, you will be personally liable for action under the FEMA 1999 and other laws governing outward remittance as prescribed by appropriate authorities from time to time.
